Ryan played two years in the A’s organization under current big league pitching Coach Kurt Young learning valuable insights on the mental and physical game of baseball. Upon his release from the A’s Ryan played for the Tri City Posse of the Independent Western Baseball League under former big leaguer Wally Backman. In 2006 Ryan attempted a comeback and was signed by the Kansas City T-bones of the Northern league where he was the set up man out of the bullpen. A season ending tricep injury cut his comeback short. For the past year Ryan has been a private instructor at Big League Edge Performance Baseball Training Center in Auburn, Washington under the tutelage of Big league veteran Jim Parque of the Chicago White Sox.
Ryan will be offering a wide variety of instruction including private one on one pitching mechanics, arm strengthening programs, speed and agility training, power core training, lower and upper body plyometric workouts, individual running and weight training programs all designed and currently used by the Oakland A’s organization Ryan looks forward to bringing his passion and knowledge of baseball to Sluggers training facility to help shape future baseball stars of the desert.
